"As a lifelong lower island resident I have always felt that there were too many municipalities and that amalgamation would make sense someday. I also believe that it is democratic to place a non-binding referendum question on the November ballot that would allow residents to state a preference as to whether the municipality should participate in provincially-funded studies to determine the feasibility, costs and benefits of further service integration. The results of such a non-binding question would inform Council as to future policy direction. Any changes to municipal boundaries would require a binding referendum in 2018 or later. Until then, I support the continued integration of services, including fire, police, garbage collection, standard zoning regulations and possibly public works." (Candidate website)
