A major initiative in local governance took place by our neighbours in two municipalities just one hour north of Greater Victoria.
The municipalities of Duncan (pop. 4,944) and North Cowichan (pop. 28,807) undertook a Provincial jointly funded and supported process to determine if amalgamation is right for their communities. (See BC review and program guide to Managing Changes to Local Government Structure )
