A Plethora of Police Departments
There are multiple modes of policing in the Capital Region District.
Five municipalities have their own police departments: Victoria-Esquimalt (combined), Oak Bay, Saanich and Central Saanich
Three RCMP detachments serve 6 municipalities under municipal contracts: North Saanich, Sidney, Colwood, Langford, View Royal and Sooke.
The RCMP also serves Highlands and Metchosin under a provincial contract.
