Re: “Maybe it’s time for an independent James Bay,” June 5.
I appreciate Shellie Gudgeon bringing our attention to the fact that James Bay is not fairly represented by city hall. Unfortunately, it is not the only area that is not treated fairly — try Fairfield, Fernwood and Victoria West.
The only people who are represented are the downtown core and the homeless. I support full amalgamation of all 13 municipalities, but if we can’t have that, then I would like to see Vic West go with Esquimalt.
For us living in Vic West, to get to Victoria we have to cross a bridge, which makes it the perfect separation line. By becoming part of Esquimalt we would have some sane representation as opposed to those currently running city hall.
