Stabbing shows need for some amalgamation

Re: “Stabbing victim turns up at gas station; man charged,” Nov. 25.
If ever there was a case for some sort of amalgamation, it was seen in the article about the stabbing victim:
“Because the gas station borders Saanich, Victoria and West Shore, all three police jurisdictions responded.”
As an occasional resident of Victoria (ineligible to vote), I can only shake my head at how nutty that is. Does that sound only a bit like a waste of valuable resources? A serious examination of amalgamation of at least some services is long overdue.
