Saanich mayor shouldn’t ignore residents’ wishes

Re: “Mayors feel snubbed by province over revenue sharing,” Sept. 25.
Isn’t it somewhat ironic the mayor of Saanich is shocked over being ignored by the province over revenue-sharing when he ignores the majority of Saanich residents who want a non-binding amalgamation question on the municipal ballot?
When you consider more Saanich residents have signed the petition calling for the ballot question than any other municipality, it’s unbelievable the mayor and council can pretend the issue isn’t an issue.
Now that’s shocking.
