Amalgamation Yes not happy with Oak Bay

Even though Oak Bay's amalgamation referendum produced a no vote during the civic elections, the town was still welcome to take part in a regional study to be done by the province.
That was until Mayor Nils Jensen and councillers decided to not be involved in any way.
"It's so, so unfortunate to think that the residents of Oak Bay are going to be sitting on the sidelines, ostracised from this process, because of the mayor and council," says John Vickers with Amalgamation Yes. "And the mayor particularly because he's an amalgamation expert. He makes these unchallenged statements as to why amalgamation, without any debate, without any dialogue, isn't great for his community."
Vickers says Oak Bay shut down the issue by posing an amalgamation referendum question during the civic elections in November which was loaded to produce a negative result.
